Synopsis
A young girl’s struggles with substance dependency, and her battle to face this as well as achieve her dreams of becoming a singer.
Mission
With this current project, we hope to raise significant awareness as to the issues of substances within contemporary Australian society, and its impact on young people achieving their potential.
Statement
We are trying to raise funds for this project in the most creative ways possible which is the nature of working for a not-for-profit organisation with limited resources. Therefore, as we move into the pre-production stages of ‘Marli’, we are now seeking financial/in-kind support and sponsorship to allow this production to move forward.
Outcome
With this project, we are aiming to do a lot for the local community which will hopefully have an impact on contemporary issues in a wider context. ‘Marli’ will provide several benefits to the community such as: Promoting arts and culture. Raising issues around substances and the impacts these are having on society. Involving young people in the project who are experiencing these issues. Promoting the creative ability of disadvantaged young people. Highlighting Western Australia as a state that is trying to bring positive change.
