Asalamu alaykum! my ummah! I would truly appreciate your time to read my story. I have an elderly relative who had a leg tumor, unfortunately, she had to undergo surgery to have her leg amputated. She stays in her bed most of the time. And depends on her daughter. Who see to her personal needs. She also lives with her four other children, they all live on the second floor.

My biggest concern is her daughter who is her main carer and sees to all her daily needs. On top of all this recently her husband had become ill too. With several serious health complications, the husband also needs support too. He has to be taken to the bathroom with supervision, and cannot do self care. The daughter now has become a carer to both her disabled mother and her husband. They both require full time care around the clock.


She has a great responsibility on her back, what worries me the most is that the daughter has no further support and is struggling to manage the needs of her family. While also sending her children to school. One of her children had just finished her college. And wishes to pursue further education by reaching her goals. The father who had been the main breadwinner, and the supporter use to provide for his children. However the family is unable to afford it due to the father’s illness.

We are seeking financial assistance to provide ground floor accessible place, to live in making it easier for the daughter to care for her loved ones. They also need medical equipment, a wheelchair, a ceiling host, shower chair, and a walk in shower built, to facilitate their personal needs. Additionally, we hope to raise funds to cover the education fees for the children. So they can become further main supporters, and future helpers towards their family. The family needs a lot of support in this difficult time.

As a fellow carer, I understand the burden that comes with not getting a break, and it plays a very important part when we are caring for our loved ones. Please do support us, to lighten the burden for the family. Any amount you can contribute will go a long way.
