What's the issue?
Drought has worsened significantly across Somalia following three consecutive below-average rainy seasons. The intensifying drought has led to water shortages, crop failures, and high levels of livestock migration and deaths. 7.1 Million Somalis are facing a high level of acute food insecurity and hunger and 1.5 million of them are children.
How will this campaign help solve the problem?
This project will focus on life-saving efforts to grant rural areas in the Beledweyne district of the Hiran region, Hirshabelle State of Somalia safe drinking water. Over 50,000 Somali lives and 20,000 livestock will benefit from this. Thirst relief will be provided to 8,400 of the most vulnerable households affected by the drought. Seedlings, training, and tools to grow vegetation will be provided to low-income families to generate a sustainable income.
From drought relief to drought resilience, choose your giving level:
$45: Provide a family with food for a month
$100: Provide low-income families with the tools, seeds, and training to grow vegetation.
$175 Rehabilitate community wells that aid in long-term livable communities and a more sustainable water future.
$250: Send emergency relief where needed most
