What are you supporting?
Every day in the impoverished townships of South Africa, at least 3 children are badly burning themselves through accidental fires due to unsafe paraffin stoves, candles, and hot water.
But there’s a problem
Unfortunately in Africa, there is still a stigma about burns and scarring, and these children will likely suffer a lifetime of not only physical scarring but emotional scarring too. Without the right care, many of these children will grow up unable to find jobs and become isolated from their township as a result of their injuries.
We aim to improve the quality of life for these children and give them every fighting chance of hope for the future.
Here’s what we’re doing about it
We are going to cycle for the ABC Bike for Burns Challenge, 400 km over 5 days from George to Cape Town along the Garden Route, to raise awareness and funds to support these children.
Nancy and I are two sisters from Perth. We have zero cycling experience but 100% enthusiasm to improve the lives of others.
The ride is in the last week of October but we have a lot of training to do and we need your support!
You can join us and help make an awesome difference
We are targeting $10k that's a little over $2k for every 100km we do!
100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Phoenix Burns Project.
Last year, our team raised $67,000 which was put towards buying a pulsed dye laser to relieve burn itch and heal scarring.

Well I've been told a lot of fun stories about cycling so I'll be hashing/trending the following:
#shortlegs #buttsores #buttpads #fallover #zebrachasedus
Perks you get for supporting us
Karma... for every $100 you give you get back 100 points of Karma redeemable at the pearly gates of heaven.
If you can spare any $ or donate anything we would be very grateful.
We are also collecting teddies/soft toys which will be transported over to South Africa and given to the children to lift their spirits!
Please contact Nancy and me directly to make any of these donations.
